MTN leads sponsorship for Tech Revolution Africa

MTN has renewed its partnership with Tech Revolution Africa as the Headline Sponsor for the second edition of the continent’s leading innovation gathering, Tech Revolution Africa 2.0, the organiser said.

The Big Bold Step is scheduled to take place on January 30–31, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The renewed partnership underscores MTN’s continued commitment to driving innovation, empowering young talent, and shaping the digital future of Africa.

MTN also headlined the inaugural edition of Tech Revolution Africa in 2024, where its support helped deliver a high-impact platform that sparked critical discussions, inspired collaboration, and created valuable connections across Africa’s technology ecosystem.

Speaking on the sponsorship, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Information Officer, Shoyinka Shodunke, said the initiative reflects Africa’s growing confidence and leadership in the global technology space.

“I am truly inspired by the vision of Tech Revolution Africa 2.0. This is more than innovation; it is Africa’s bold declaration that we are not just participants in the global tech space but leaders shaping its future.

“From Lagos to Kigali and Nairobi to Cape Town, our collective creativity and resilience are rewriting the rules. The world is indeed watching, and I have no doubt Africa will rise to the occasion,” Shodunke said.

The co-founder of Tech Revolution Africa, David Ogebe, said the 2026 edition will be “bigger, bolder, and more transformative”, adding that it will bring together industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, investors, founders, and young talent from across the continent.

“Next year’s edition is set to be bigger, bolder, and more transformative, bringing together industry leaders and innovators from Africa and beyond, policymakers and regulators shaping Africa’s digital future, and investors, founders, and young talent building the next wave of startups,” Ogebe said.

The event is expected to host over 5,000 participants, feature more than 80 speakers, 38 exhibitors, and 15 product showcases, positioning Tech Revolution Africa 2.0 as a key platform for collaboration and deal-making in Africa’s tech ecosystem.

Another co-founder of Tech Revolution Africa, Glory Olamigoke, encouraged participants not to miss the gathering, describing it as a unique opportunity to engage directly with visionaries shaping Africa’s digital future.

“There are opportunities to engage directly with visionary speakers and innovators, network with investors, founders, and policymakers driving Africa’s tech growth, and gain exclusive insights into emerging technologies reshaping industries across the continent,” Olamigoke said.

Tech Revolution Africa is widely regarded as one of the continent’s most influential technology convergence platforms. It brings together key stakeholders across sectors to foster conversations, forge partnerships, and unlock opportunities that define the future of Africa’s digital economy.
